Allwinner A10 Antenna Mod (Mediacom 910i – Teclast A10T)
About a year a go i bought a 9″ tablet from Mediacom and i noticed some defects, in top of which the wifi antenna reception:
I couldn’t surf the net on my toilet and that is unacceptable.
Searching some forums i realized that Mediacom 910i and Teclast A10T are pretty much the same stuff and that the rear case of the device may be the problem; it is made of aluminium and the internal antenna is suffering this.
My first attempt was to make an hole in the rear case and pull out the antenna:
But the result did not satisfy me so i bought a RP SMA female connector to put on a standard wifi antenna.
The final result impressed me: wifi reception has improved widely even without the RP-SMA antenna mounted on it and also compared to the first mod with original antenna out!
To make the hole use a fine-tipped drill and then use the electrician’s scissors to expand it.
If you don’t like the 5 db antenna I used, you could always use a mini RP-SMA antenna or any other with a RP-SMA connector, like the big black cock model shown in gallery, but as i said the wifi improves just by making that hole ;)
